Edward F. Smith is a financial blogger who has gathered quite a following over the years. He decided to monetize his blog and charge a yearly subscription to read his blog posts.
The first challenge here was that his current blog was built on GoDaddy’s quickblog software, so we needed to build an entire new site from scratch. We chose a WooThemes template as we knew that would be a nice, stable platform for his website. There are not a lot of photos on this site, we we needed a format that would be heavy on the text but still look pleasing to the eye. Blue was a color that Ted Smith liked and was using on his current blog. We found a good fit in a template for him.
One other feature we worked on was setting up Ted with a Gravatar. This pulled in his photo to the author box which we felt was important for this blogging site.
We integrated the membership/payment plugin and then pulled in his paypal account. Upon launching, Ted had his first signup within hours.
